project description
Immunex Corporation renovated a 30,000 SF space owned by Nexus Properties to develop a biotechnology research laboratory. The renovation included a complete demolition of all services within the space so that the construction team could start with a bare shell space. This laboratory is located within close proximity to Immunex’s pharmaceutical development facility in Bothell, WA.

WJC (under CDi Engineers) was subcontracted by the General Contractor to provide Test Engineering services. WJC’s responsibilities included creation of the commissioning schedule, organizing the participation of the subcontractors, writing/performing the functional performance tests, gathering all startup documentation into the final commissioning binder/report, and assisting in the resolution of problems encountered. Power Systems Engineering partnered with WJC to provide electrical power commissioning services.

DDC control system, laboratory supply air handling unit, lab general exhaust air system, fume hood exhaust air system, laboratory airflow tracking controls, heating hot water boiler system, split system air conditioning units, H-occupancy room ventilation systems, hot water unit heaters, oversight of laboratory fume hood certifications (including ASHRAE 110 testing), domestic hot water system, laboratory hot water system, emergency eyewash and shower systems, laboratory compressed air system, laboratory vacuum system, standby diesel generator and automatic transfer switch, IR scans of the electrical panelboards, electromagnetic field testing around the main electrical service entrance room, lighting controls, card access/CCTV system, public address system, HVAC/fire alarm systems interfaces, and HVAC/standby power systems interfaces.
