project description

The purpose of this project is to convert the existing lab 328 and equipment core area on the 3rd floor of Kincaid Hall into an open/collaborative work space with (7) private offices along the perimeter, open plan furniture work stations for (22) graduate and post doctorial students, a conference room, a break room and miscellaneous other open plan work areas. Also included in this project is the inclusion of a proposed additive alternate to install (4) new exterior windows in place of existing hollow metal exterior doors along the west facade of the building on floors 2 through 5. Associated mechanical and electrical upgrades and hazardous materials assessment and abatement is also included in this scope. New office furniture throughout and open plan work stations are also included in this budget. The approximate affected square footage is 2921 SF.

services provided

Wilson Jones Commissioning, LLC provided Commissioning Authority services for this project through all phases of the construction process.  Activities being performed for commissioning included:

·        Performing site visits

·        Creating and Performing functional performance tests (FPT’s)

·        Tracking system issues and deficiencies

·        Assisting with the troubleshooting and resolution of controls and operational issues

Domestic Hot Water System, Emergency Shower and Eyewash Stations, Electronic Dual Duct Air Terminal Units, TAB Backcheck (10%), Lighting Controls System and Daylighting Controls.
