project description

This project renovates the existing undergraduate lab 236 on the 2nd floor of Bagley Hall (approx. 3200 SF) to current UW lab standards for general chemistry laboratory students. This project improves lab safety and reduce energy use. This project includes demolition of existing walls, lab casework, ceilings, lighting and all interior finishes. It will provide a new lab wall layout, new fixed and modular lab casework/benches, new lab finishes, new ceilings and lighting, new emergency shower/eye wash stations and related services. The existing sprinkler system was modified to accommodate the new layout. Existing fume hoods were replaced with new low-flow hoods. New electrical panels, power and communications were also provided. Associated mechanical and electrical upgrades were included as part of this project. Hazardous materials assessment and abatement were also included.
