project description
The Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility provides a cold-weather practice venue for the University of Washington Husky football and track teams. The facility is fully heated, extending the practice season and reducing injuries. Husky football also considers the facility to be a strong recruiting tool for new student athletes. Notable features include a sophisticated netting control system and indoor lighting system. Also featured is the tallest indoor batting cage installed in the United States.

WJC (under CDi Engineers) was sub-contracted by the General Contractor to provide Test Engineer Services. WJC provided a commissioning plan, performed design reviews, assisted in establishing the operational basis of design, directed and witnessed Contractors conduct functional performance tests, wrote/executed special systems functional performance tests, coordinated all mechanical and electrical testing, and assisted in the resolution of mechanical system operational problems. Power Systems Engineering partnered with WJC to provide emergency power commissioning.
