This project converted existing finished space at the UW Tacoma (UWT) Science Building into a Clean Water Innovation Development and Technology Transfer Laboratory. The scope included the remodel of existing labs into a dirty and clean wet lab as well as minor alterations to two additional lab rooms. Also, the lab office suite was remodeled along with the addition of two new small conference rooms. The new spaces provide needed lab spaces to support collaborative efforts with the University to develop and test new clean water technologies.
We provided comprehensive commissioning services including design review, development of commissioning specifications, submittal review, site inspection and installation verification, development of the startup/commissioning schedule, startup oversight, functional performance testing, O&M documentation review, and Owner training oversight.
7 existing series fan-powered air terminal units (office spaces), 4 laboratory room control systems including VAV heating/cooling and airflow tracking controls, 4 fume hoods and face velocity monitors, 4 snorkel exhausts, 1 heat canopy hood exhaust system, verification that existing central fan systems are adjusted properly to support newly remodeled lab rooms, lab gas cross connection testing, domestic hot water verification, 1 emergency eyewash/shower certification, room lighting occupancy sensors, room lighting daylight harvesting (dimming photocell sensors).
